@CBSS
At Pelasgon there is a gathering of both CBSS agents and CBSS might. The Two motherland cruisers in service to the polity along with their wings of escort craft gather in the heavens above the capital city. Each of you see them from the starport below as a false constellation in the night sky.
Cargo lighters and other transport shuttles stand poised to bring you up to space, as soon as the Chairman himself has personally concluded your briefing. Skilled agents from all over the Polity have been recalled for this most urgent of assaults.
White/Blue smoke from the Chairman's cigar rises into the night sky and one of his aides comes out of the shadows with a large white board, markers, and of course a box of cigars for all the brave volunteers. Above, another flock of transport craft bring supplies and munitions up to the fleet, drowning out conversation with the roar of their engines for just a moment.
7:11 AM
(if we wanted to meet each other here we can for a bit before I kick things off, nice way for the new folks to meet the people who have been around a while)
Maxim approaches the chiarman, giving him a short salute before dropping on some crates. Gazing up at the sky he says to no one in particular: "A truly elevating site, seeing the gathered might of our fleets"
The Geon Kolbeckite shuffles himself off the lead bearing pillar he was leaning against in the starport as he was watching the space outside. His bulky frame, the colour of rust, shifts like exposed tectonic plates as he stomps towards the chairman and greets him in a familiar way "Good evening chairman." His voice is the rumble of distant thunder.
He then turns his head to Maxim and regards him. "And good evening to you, friend. I am Kolbeckite. My associate watching over me is Pyrophanite."
For the keen of sight, another Geon sits on a viewing bench further down the lobby, his back turned to the windows, watching the group instead, unmoving. His outer shell is the colour of slate, his head a helmet of rock and granite.
After paying his respects and briefly checking in with the Chairman, Parsnips spots familiar faces and approaches, the helmet to his powered armor tucked under his arm. “Kolbeckite, Maxim, always a pleasure to see you outside of council chambers!” He turns to the Geon. “Kolbeckite, I believe this is our first field operation together!”
"Hello, you two, glad to meet you here!" He nods over to Pyrophanite, before turning to Kolbeckite "You will see, space battles are a lot of fun, especially if you are backed up by motherland cruisers. My friend Parsnips here can confirm that, am i right?" He pats parsnips on the shoulder, despite the hulking power armour. "And for our Victory celebration I brought this" He reveals a large bottle of the politys finest Vodka(edited)
"Great minds, Maxim" Parsnips replies as he also pulls out a bottle. "And yes, there really is nothing quite like ship combat. I mean, it's horrific and terrifying, but at the same time there's something almost, I don't know, weirdly beautiful about it? Being out there amongst the stars and all the brilliant, multicolored flashes."
"Ah, good to see you here too Parsnips. I must confess I have never been in ship battles. I came mostly for the last part of negotiating with the liberated. I believe this will be First Contact with these aliens for the CBSS, if I am not mistaken?"
(how do ship battles work, do we all fly a ship each, or work together in one ship, or only the ones with relevant skills fly ships and get into fights?)
(everyone has been captaining a ship, I believe on the mission distribution you'd be heading down to the planet while the ship battle is going on to meet with the local 'Tre and try to get some of them to leave)(edited)
A human in CBBS combat uniform steps off from a recently arrived gravbus. He salutes and says "Good evening comrades! I've been told i can be of help for the Brotherhood here. My orders say that i'm assigned to mission group two. Looking forward to fighting by your side."
9:03 AM
"My name is Muhammed Amufo" He extends his hand towards the others.
"Ah Muhammed, Comrade Parsnips told only good about you! Mission Group two, part of the assaulters, not bad, not bad! But where are my manners, Im Maxim" He shakes his hand
Muhammad shakes Parsnips' hand firmly. "Nice to meet you too. The revolution is still small but it's the first time i feel like we have a chance in ages."
"That is good to hear, comrade. All revolutions start small. That's the only way to start. It's exciting to see that the workers are gaining ground there."
Aleksander comes walking up looking down at his database to make sure he was in the right place, "uh.... is this where the meeting is? I'm new to serve the CBSS, im Aleksander Lenkov, engineer and pilot for Vadhat. Nice to meet everyone."
Dimitri walks up to the group that’s gathering his a fresh uniform on a new long scar across his face. He snaps to attention and sulfates. “Chairman…” he relaxes and stands relaxed arms behind his back. “Comrades, it certainly will be a pleasure to serve on this mission with you. And is excellent to finally meet most of you in person. Comrade Muhammad, it seems we will be on the infiltration team together. I look forward to fighting with you.”
Parsnips firmly claps Dimitri on the back, remembering his suit’s strength augmentations just in time. “The man of Soviet Steel, himself! I have heard so much about you!”
“You as well comrades, you have represented us well. The man who negotiates for all workers.” He smiles and despite the firm clap on the shoulder isn’t bothered. He nods to Muhammad, “Yes, the people of Angelos are in a horrible position. I’ve seen first hand the tyranny of the bourgeoisie there. I look forward to the day when fighting is over there.”
"Very good" the Chairman says , clearing his throat. "This will not take long, I will give you the general overview of the plan, and you will have to adjust as you get to the destination"
2:33 PM
"This missions is going to involve three stages, all occurring at once to make sure we can achieve the maximum possible result with the smallest amount of allocated resources. We are spending this month deprived of our elite mech corps as the new recruits finish their training, but I have faith in all of you here today.
First- the fleet will engage the Salvation fleet in the system. We expect this will be similar to the crimson claws engagement where we will out gun them, but they will have the numbers. We expect a heavy frigate or a light cruiser as a flagship, anything we can disable for boarding is a boon but if it looks like the bulk freighter with our negotiation team is in danger, I would rather you just destroy them. We can build our own ships.
As the fleet battle begins we will have an infiltration team aboard the Proletariat Transport. We expect ten men led by trained operatives should be enough to handle the cult and AI aboard, and take the bridge. Lock it down, and wait for reinforcements from the fleet.
Finally, the Proletariat transport itself has two jobs this mission and it is up to the fleet to defend it at all costs. It is a cruiser, it cannot land on the planet and therefore will be present for the fighting. The bulk freighter will deliver the infiltration team to the shipyard- we have confirmed it is not armed, and then will deploy its launch craft to bring our negotiation team to the surface. It can hold 27,000 people, even if we convince 2 or 3 thousand to leave, we will have enough to get the colony started on Canache. We are not taking slaves here, do not force them to come. Their last experience with spacefaring races was one that saw them thrown down from traveling the stars, they may not take well to us. I trust our skilled negotiators to get this done"
Lyuba clearly late to the meeting shuffles in apologizing yet quietly but listens fervently to the mission details
(Sorry overslept folks)
"Yes a few if I may.
First, do we know any special or specific armorments and capabilities of the enemy ships or stations from our former team here?
Do we have any more specifics on the local population to assist in negotiations?
And finally, If any of the opperations finish before others are they to move to assist other prongs of this three part mission or continue with their own?"(edited)
"Well, here is what we know, some of this I have said already,
1. We know based on Boris/Mo's mission before they left the station isn't armed. Their mission was covert so they didn't risk scanning ships for specifics on fittings/armament as it was needless danger.
2. We know there are tens of millions of Tre all living in many different tribes on the world, nobody speaks their language and most of the Tre live much further north closer to the NFSS, so we've got no idea how negotiations might go, which is why our best agents and negotiators are handling this. They're the best chance we have as is.
3. (this one is OOC, for my own sanity and keeping 10 people organized all doing adjacent things, there won't be any crossing over into other missions, a higher rate of posting doesn't necessarily correlate to a team spending less in galaxy time on an objective, ect, and I don't want to untangle all that mid mission when ive got so many other things to keep track of. )(edited)
(sounds awesome, last thing I think I am curious about is if in universe... Capturing the AI is somehow worthwhile? Idk if its too far along to try force breaking it to be useful or if thats just not a thing to do in this universe? Just asking to see if we can save it or just absolutely wreak it no questions asked.)
(Its unbraked and there is no living person and no existing computing capable of braking it, so it would need to be destroyed, as to the maltech agreement the CBSS is party to. The shipyard itself will function without it, using an organic crew)(edited)
Dimitri clears his throat. “Chairman do we have a number of cultists that are on the station? I am familiar with being outnumbered but, If we are overwhelmed it will be lethal.”

Mobius, the mosk gonzo journalist, arrives late and a bit dishevelled. dirty under his boots and a dinosaur feather stuck by accident on his backpack. He quietly greets those nearby and look for @OddCore, as he already knows they are both going for planetfall.
A feminine human with fair skin and short, smartly-styled red hair arrives dressed in a political officer's uniform. They snap into a crisp salute. "Commissar Morgan Blake, reporting. Please forgive my tardiness. I had a small delay on landing, but it's been cleared up." They put up a stoic front, but can't disguise a small nervous tremble in their lip.
Morgan relaxes at seeing the proffered hand and returns Parsnips' easy smile. They meet him with a firm handshake and a single nod. "Likewise, comrade. I'm eager to get to work, with all of you."
Kolbeckite listens to the briefing.
"I have a question. If I understand correctly we are attempting to convince the 'Tre people to leave the planet and come with us to Canach. Is that so they flee the fight, or are they oppressed?"
2:14 AM
The Geon greets @Mercurial Raven and @Moebius heartily
"Well met friends. I am Kolbeckite I am here with Pyrophanite, over there, don't let him worry you, he's as friendly as he is alert and keen of sense."
He points to another Geon, slate grey in colour and imposing, even from a distance, currently leaning against the viewing windows thirty feet away.
" Mobius, I believe we will be heading planetside together? And Morgan friend, will you be coming, or are you part of another team? "
Morgan shakes Lyuba’s hand next and regards both he and Kolbeckite with the same warm smile.
“It is an important mission, certainly, but I’m simply here in line with my duties as a political educator and diplomat. To that end, I will indeed be joining you, Kolbeckite.”
Parsnips puts his arm around Mobius and leads him away from the group. “Hey, buddy. I heard you might be coming, so I grabbed you a little something from our newest production center in Al-Thynninan. I’d love to get your thoughts from a quality control perspective.” Parsnips discreetly hands Mobius a vial of white powder.
(I know the destroyer parsnips built is an absolute machine, we also have a ton of very good heavy frigates .
We have three cruisers and four of us. Snips has been an absolutely stellar faction lead so he can decide where he wants to place himself and those of us in the space battle can filter out from there for ships they’re personally commanding.
After that we will do like we did against the crimson claws where you guys can roll some npc ships too so it’s not me just throwing dice against myself for the missions )
( I am good letting the pros who have had actual experience with space battles have the cruisers and I could take some escorts to run interference on our lovely drop ship to the world and station. Leaving the big ships to focus on shattering their shit)
(also just in case anyone didnt think to check out dynomens deets here yall go)
Lyuba pulls out his data slab bringing up all relevant data on this world and projects it for the group.

Tens of Millions of Inhabitants
The Dynomen system consists of a single habitable world. The planet exists closer to the sun within the habitable band. It has two moons, each of them is focused on the refinement of heavy metals and fuels for the enormous major shipyard in orbit over the planet. This system also has a red sun, a gas giant, and a large asteroid field where much of the mining for shipbuilding projects takes place. A cult worshiping the mechanical wonder that is this major shipyard in the post-scream era, and the VI intelligence within they've named "Salvation", controls the shipyard and has halted operations of all projects since The Scream, to the frustration of the dozens of industries in the system that rely on it. It is not currently known what the cult may be doing inside. The Dynomen system is patrolled by a small local defense fleet consisting of system ships, under the authority of the Salvation Cult, which was once a research group meant to study the locals. Infrastructure here exists in the heavens, and the inhabited planet itself is home to a branch of the 'Tre aliens, who trade and raid one another across a savannah that dominates the central Pangea like continent. They have progressed into something resembling an iron age, but seeing 'Tre aliens across other worlds nearby, it can be reasoned they were once spacegoing and the current fleet in their heavens may be responsible for their fall. They have no way to contact space, and it is unknown if they understand any of the languages in use around the sector.(edited)
(It’s full. Four people is as much as I can handle with the complexity of space combat , but two of the other phases of the mission could use people )
6:30 PM
(An engineer would be invaluable in terms of the shipyard team, if that helps)
6:31 PM
(I’ve run bigger phases of group missions in the past and it’s just outside what I can track , I’ve made mistakes and I don’t want to mess anything up here )
Morgan nods to the Chairman, then turns to the others assigned to their mission. "Well, comrades Kobeckite, and... Mobius, was it? Shall we head to our shuttle together?"
Maxim salutes the chairman, before he turns to his fellow captains, shaking there hands one by one “It will be an honor serving with you” before heading for heading for one of the cruiser shuttles
Parsnips salutes the Chairman and moves toward Maxim and the rest of the space battle team. “This is normally where I’d have a fun quip ready, but I’m a little too nervous for that. I’m sure I’ll come up with one soon. Stay tuned.” He heads toward a shuttle.
( do we have names for all of our ships? And if jot do we have a general naming convention like how real militaries name ships ot can we go buck wild with them?)
The fleet meets in orbit and as one makes the six day spike jump to Dynonen, engines carrying the assault force foreword as fast as possible.
Six hours before the spike exit the soldiers begin assembling , sailors undergo the last of the combat checks , and everyone looks forward to the coming fight and a new chance to bring an important world into the growing polity.
(6 days of downtime. We can track what we do in our own threads. I’ll make a separate thread for each mission under this one)
(Everyone just track your downtime. I’ll make a post here when I’m home and I’ll make the mini missions )

"Why don't we head to the mess hall and start discussing preparations over some chow?"(edited)
As the six days pass the fleet translates into the Dynonen system. The negotiation team and infiltration team aboard the Proletariat transport and the battle fleet begin spreading out to engage the enemy fleet or sneak by to the shipyard and then planet.
An enemy cruiser , a pair of heavy frigates and ten support craft split between patrol boats and destroyers occupy the system all painted in Ascension Cult purple and blue. They spread out in a loose screen between the shipyard and the planet trying to block your path.
Dynonen slowly turns below , home to an alien culture thrown from the heavens by this manic cult.
The fleet battle has been completed and boarding actions against Ascension Cult vessels have been completed.
The shipyard AI core is about to be investigated.
Natives on the planet have begun contact with the CBSS
